The ghosts throw pebbles into my still pond
Every version of me feels the ripples
Each rock stings, but our minds can’t stop
Forgetting that feelings aren’t facts
Look down into the water
Hundreds of pebbles on the floor
I wonder when they will fill up the pond
Reach the surface and become an insurmountable pile
If I wait quietly
The ripples calm down
Leaving the water still again
So I can rest my soul a while
When the rocks come back and splash me
The pebbles are smaller
And the ripples are gentle
And I inhale clean, sparkling air
Letting my breath out
Slowly and intently
The Earth relaxes and swallows the rocks
Leaving crystal clear water inside me
And my eyes close for the first time
Beautiful!!
